Copyright and removal requests (DMCA)

How to ask us to stop processing a video that infringes your rights.

Last updated:

VidCapy does not host videos

VidCapy doesn't store, publish or index any video. Files are generated on demand from a link the visitor provides and delivered directly to their device. There is no catalog, search or list of videos on the site.

Even so, we respect copyright. If you own the rights to a video and don't want it processed through VidCapy, we will block that video on our service.

How to send a request

Email [email protected] with the subject "Copyright request" and include:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work (title, author and, if possible, a link to the original).
  2. The full YouTube link(s) of the video(s) to be blocked (for example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=…).
  3. Your name, organization (if any), postal address, phone number and email.
  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on their behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature (your full name typed is enough).

What happens next

After receiving a complete request, we block the listed links on VidCapy, usually within 3 business days, and reply to confirm. Blocked videos show a "not available" message to anyone who tries to process them.

To remove the video from YouTube itself, contact YouTube directly through its own copyright process. Blocking on VidCapy does not affect the video on YouTube.

Misuse

Knowingly sending false requests may make you liable for damages. If you're not sure whether a use infringes your rights, consider seeking legal advice first.
